Tower Bridge Lift
One of our favorite things to do for absolutely free in London is to watch the Tower Bridge lift.

You can check the schedule here. Go a few minutes early, pick your spot, and watch.
Not being of average intelligence an expert on draw bridges, I thought at first that the bridge went up and down. My current theory is that the "direction" refers to the direction of the ship--up river or down river.

It never gets old. Afterward, you can share your sandwich with the pigeons. My son had them eating off the toe of his shoe.

Then you can take trick shots with your camera, like this.
Or this one. This takes guts, knowing your wife has a blog.

Or you can have your daughter take a shot of you and your wife. If you decide you need to yell directions, though, it's better to take your mouth AWAY from your wife's ear first. Otherwise she might yell at you. But then she'll laugh because she's a good sport that way.

Don't forget to go jump around the fountains before you leave.
Very satisfactory.

I remember when you used to have the kids' photos in your header. Looking at these pictures of them I'm struck by how big they're getting! Of course it's been nearly 2 years since you took that template down so it's not unexpected that they'd have grown a little in that amount of time.
I love that pic of you and Scott! I can tell you're enjoying not just London, but being together.
What memories y'all are making, Jeana. You and your kids will never forget this trip.
xoxoxo
Diane
you guys are so cute together!
A random thing to notice, but since I still hear about the Tube almost 24/7, I notice that the maps still have the RAF symbol on the front. My eight year old will be interested to know this, because he spent far more brain power than it was worth trying to figure out how often they change the image on the front and was far too thrilled to be there to collect two different images.
Hi there. I've started reading your blog recently and have really enjoyed the stories of your travels. I'm eager to share my enjoyment of your blog with some friends and have posted a link here from my own blog.
Thanks for the awesome pics and the chance for vicarious adventure!
Great pics! Looks like a good old time!
Yes. It was very satisfying indeed!
(I love that shot of you and Scott.)
